How To Keep Your Babies Safe while driving?

Winter season is having chilly mornings and icy car windows is the best time to think about how to keep your babies safe and warm while driving or travelling in the car.

As parents we always have the habit to hold our babies in cosy bundles while moving out of the house in the car. Although, this is not certainly the right thing to do. Look out our top tips on how to make sure your babies and kids are warm and cosy as well as safe when travelling or while driving in winter season:

Here are some tips to keep safe your babies while driving:

If your car seats are detachable, kindly keep them inside the house overnight, so that you strap your babies into cosy, warm and comfy car seats before driving a car in winter season.

  • Don’t dress up your babies in heavy winter coats inside the car:

Many winter coats have a puffy filling designed to keep your babies warm with an ‘air’ between them and the coat. Although, the heaviness will prevent you from perfectly tightening the straps around the babies chests.

  • Try to use thinner layers for warmth:

Dress up your babies in thinner layers of clothes to keep them cosy, warm and use a blanket (or coat) on the top of their straps to keep them comfy. You can even slide their blanket and coat on backwards over the top of the straps, to keep their arms warm and cosy.

Consider using specially designed baby blankets/quilts which is better in the whole journey. You can also wrap the blanket/quilts on the top of them to make the baby ready for moving out in the winters.

  • Don’t exaggerate it with the car heater

Remember not to have the car heater on too maximum level. If your babies are wearing hats and gloves on top of being wrapped up in a blanket/quilts, it will become too sweaty if you keep the heater on high level.  It’s a best idea to dress up in thinner layers to your babies, so that you can remove the layers accordingly in the car itself.
